Clinics & Services

Child Health and Immunisation Clinic

The child health and immunisation clinic is 10.00am to 11.00am on a Thursday morning. The health visitor is usually in attendance and we are happy to see all pre–school children with or without an appointment.

Family Planning

Dr Stovin and the practice nurses can offer a full range of family planning services.

Ante Natal Clinic

The ante natal clinic is Thursday morning from 9.00 to 10.15. Our attached midwife is Diane Bains. Pregnant ladies should usually make contact with one of the doctors in the surgery in the first few weeks of their pregnancy.

Minor Operations

Minor operations can be done in our treatment room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then ensure you are given an appointment usually on a Tuesday 2.30pm -3.30pm, Dr Staunton, or Friday 12.00 noon to 1.00pm, Dr Stovin. We often call these 'clinic' appointments.

Diabetic

Dr Staunton and nurse work together to run diabetic support clinics. All diabetic patients may be recalled by the nurse, with the support of our data co–ordinator, to individual appoints or feel free to make appointments at any stage with the doctor.

Asthma Clinics

We offer asthma clinics and chronic obstructive airways disease clinics. The nurses are trained in spirometry and will offer appointments for those wanting support.

Stopping Smoking & Weight Management

Doctors and nurses are happy to support patients in stopping smoking at routine appointments. Weight loss advice can also be offered.

Coronary Heart Disease Clinic

With the availability of new drugs, we are able to be very proactive in helping those with angina or who have had a heart attack or stroke. With the help of our data co–ordinator, our nurse will aim to recall all patients who have one of the above to her clinic at least once a year to monitor and try to prevent complications of these diseases and keep our patients in the best health possible.
